Launch :D
Finally… IDK how long I’ve been saying, “Yeah I’m working on a website I’m almost done”, but I think it’s multiple years at this point. I’m really bad about doing a thing, becoming wayyy too aware of every single flaw, and then throwing all of the work i just did into the trash. I’ve redone the backend of this site like 3 times and have totally changed course on the look/layout probably 6 times…? This is why i never get anything done LMAO. I kind of want to talk more in-depth about how some parts of this site were implemented, but not here…not now…
Anyway.
The current default theme of this site is “Tundra”. It was inspired by this song + video.
I haven’t really succeeded in capturing the specific vision this song conjures for me, but if I keep delaying launch until I do it will never happen. Or worse, I’ll restart again… I hope this help communicate what I’m thinking:
I imagine a vast, snowy landscape stuck in a perpetual twilight. Stars are barely visible in the green-black darkness to the west, and delicate veils of cloud flash white and gold toward the east. Just below the uninterrupted horizon lies the sun, barely-visible corona teasing all who would desire its warmth.
For most hours of this anemic day-night cycle the wind rages. It rakes its claws across the plain over and over, throwing multiple tons of snow into the air and limiting visibility to a few feet in any direction. For now though, as the sun reaches its apex, the beast sleeps. When the topmost layer of the snow starts to whisper, rising wraith-like as it does, it’s time to go back inside the facility, where we are now.
The music is also supposed to be thematically appropriate but I’m not sure how I feel about it. 😛 Anyway, not sure what the next theme will be. Suggestions welcome if you have any. 🙂
I plan on adding some more stuff to the gallery and implementing some way to view my models in 3D soon. I don’t think it will be too terrible to do but who knows. I’ll probably post another update/diary when that happens. <3

gorgeously evocative description… it makes me feel warily, tentatively safe on your website 🙂
